Multi-channel data acquisition for life monitoring of escalator steps in underground railway station

A study in the monitoring of stresses and foot-fall on escalator steps at a London tube station.

Providing an insight of the loading and stresses on the steps of an escalator at a London underground station. The project was to assess, test and validate the number of people stepping on the escalator steps and the induced loading and stresses developped on the braket and chains moving beneath the escalator itself.  This data acquisition monitors wirelessly the loadings during the peak time travel in the station.
